CARELY
Capstone Project 2 | Apr-Jun 2021
Carely was created as an exploration into turning data into form. Hand crafted, these pots provide meaning and learning to the user in order to help their plants - and themselves - thrive.

The digital elements of this design were created in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop. Images edited in Adobe Lightroom.
"Carely is your guide to the happiest house plants possible. Carely pots represent the optimal watering, temperature, humidity, light and soil type needed for specific plants to thrive. Buying a Monstera Deliciosa? Buy the matching Carely Monstera Deliciosa pot and you’ll have the guide to a healthy plant in the palm of your hands.
As shown through the data visualisation on the back of the Carely tag, Plant Life Balance reports that Australians feel good when they are in the garden and caring for their plants. Just another way that Carely is caring for you and your plants."

Target Audience: beginner plant owners or current green thumbs looking for a modern way to learn about their plants.

Relation of data to form: Data from the University of Georgia’s report “Growing Indoor Plants with Success” was used to create the physical design of the Carely pot plants. This data has been translated into the form of a pot plant to inform its user of the optimal light, temperature, humidity, watering and soil conditions of individual plants.

Plant Life Balance’s “Trend Report” displayed data on how Australians feel when they are gardening and caring for their plants. This was used as a marketing strategy for the Carely pots - suggesting to the customer that if they purchase the pot then they will also feel the things shown in the radial graph.
